You can catch the sunrise over the Himalayas if you make an early morning climb along the absolute path to the standpoint of Poon Hill (3,210m/10,529ft). Ghorepani Poonhill trek is one of the shortest yet the most popular trek in Annapurna region for its rewarding sunrise over Annapurna I, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and the surrounding peaks.
You can enjoy more than 20 of the highest mountains as well as the close-up views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. The snowy peaks of the high mountains emerge above and around us glowing in the morning light. After taking photographs, we go back to Ghorepani. After breakfast, we move down through rhododendron forests, pass by stunning waterfalls and reach Tadapani. We will stay overnight at Tadapani.

By afternoon, depending upon the period of travel, we also get to enjoy cherry blossoms. After trekking a few extra minutes, we enter the village of Ghandruk.
After lunch, we drive back to Pokhara. Marking our Ghorepani Poon hill trek to an end, we reach Pokhara late in the evening following our 3-4 hors of drive after visiting Ghandruk.

Following the same route back to the Pokhara Valley, we retrace our journey to the medieval city of Kathmandu. The trail is just as beautiful and captivating as it was on our first encounter. Rolling hills, streams, rivers and rivulets, scenic landscapes, and the warm hospitality of the locals make the return journey even more memorable.
Note: You will always have the option to upgrade your package and take a flight instead of a bus drive, allowing you to spend more time exploring Pokhara and enjoy an evening flight back to Kathmandu. Pokhara has so much to offer that we highly recommend spending extra time in this beautiful city.
We arrive in Kathmandu in the evening, where we gather for a farewell dinner. If we arrive late, the farewell meal will be arranged the following morning.

Obtaining a Nepal visa is straightforward. You can apply online at https://nepaliport.immigration.gov.np/ within 15 days of your arrival. The application requires your hotel address in Nepal and a digital passport-sized photo.
Once submitted, print the confirmation page and present it at the immigration section of Kathmandu airport along with your passport and the visa fee.
To book the Ghorepani Poonhill Treks, you'll need to book a trip with a government authorized trekking agency in Nepal like us. Nepal One Adventure will handle the necessary permits, guide, and porters services you will be needing during the trek. To confirm a booking, we require 10% of the whole trip cost. The money will be used to prebook the hotels (which will be very hard to get during peak seasons), and acquire the required permits. You can pay the remaining payment right before we start your trek, i.e. upon arriving in Nepal.
After the initial booking, we will need your detailed informations i.e documents like passport copy, photo, flight details, travel insurance, etc. We will ask for these documents within a week of booking your trek. While booking with us, we want to let you know that we are concerned about your safety, and all your documents will be safely with us.
Also during the trek, you will constantly have the experienced guide to provide you with the best recommendations throughout the trek.

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the prime seasons due to stable weather and clear skies. Spring offers the added beauty of blooming rhododendron forests, while Autumn provides the sharpest visibility of the peaks following the monsoon rains.
We will run our booked trips under normal circumstances. You will still be going on the trip even if other hikers cancel at the end moment. We will not cancel the whole trip even if there are fewer participants. Please note that we will not be continuing the trip if there is a political riot, natural disasters, pandemics, epidemics or catastrophes, etc.
You will be guided by experts who are experienced and have been to camp multiple times for years. Our guides are locals who communicate in English. They acquire deep knowledge of the mountain, people, culture, hygiene, and safety.
Our institution offers a lifetime deposit policy. This allows you the flexibility to transfer your deposit to anyone or any other trip. However, you will charge a certain amount, if you wished to cancel your booked trips. You may visit our booking terms and conditions. In this way, you will get detailed information.
The accommodation in this region is considered the best so far. Trekkers stay in traditional mountain teahouses, which are basic but cozy lodges featuring twin-sharing rooms and communal dining areas. While rooms are unheated and facilities like bathrooms are often shared, these lodges provide a warm atmosphere and authentic local hospitality.
There is an upscale service than anywhere else in the upper Himalayas. It’s all up to you where you want to sleep. You may choose from guesthouses, hotels, resorts, or teahouses. Guesthouses may vary from extremely expensive to cheap. Low-budget houses are usually of poor quality. They are as not much deluxe as those in the urban areas. However, they are well off than the cheap lodges or budges guesthouse. Teahouses' accommodation is most predominant amongst hikers. They are equipped with furnished wood and solar hot showers. You will have a pillow, mattress, and a blanket along with western toilet facilities. As you ascend higher, the accommodation will be simpler with basic facilities.
The trek is generally graded as easy to moderate, making it a perfect choice for those without prior mountain experience. While it involves some steep uphill and downhill sections on stone stairs, the well-marked trails and manageable daily walking hours (usually 3 to 6 hours) are suitable for anyone with a basic level of fitness.
The highest elevation you will reach is 3,210 meters (10,532 ft) at the summit of Poon Hill. This relatively low peak provides a massive panoramic view of the mountains without the extreme risks associated with higher Himalayan passes.
The duration is highly flexible, ranging from a quick 3-day loop starting in Pokhara to an 11-day package that includes cultural tours in Kathmandu. Most standard routes focusing on the core trekking experience last between 4 and 5 days. You can customize the trekking suiting your travel needs.
You are required to obtain two primary documents: the Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) and the Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) card. These permits are essential for entering the protected region and contribute to local trail maintenance and conservation efforts.
Because the trek remains below the 3,500-meter threshold, the risk of Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) is considered very low. Most travelers find the altitude very manageable, though it is still important to stay hydrated and maintain a steady, gradual pace. It totally depends on your body.
As of early 2023, solo trekkers are generally required to hire a licensed guide for safety and compliance with local regulations. While the trail is well-traveled, a guide provides cultural insights and emergency support, and porters can be hired to carry your heavy luggage, allowing you to enjoy the trek with just a light daypack.
Absolutely, the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the most family-friendly routes in the Himalayas due to its safe altitudes and moderate difficulty. It is a popular choice for parents looking to introduce their children to trekking in a culturally rich and scenic environment.
Most teahouses now provide electricity for charging devices and Wi-Fi access for a small extra fee, though the connection may be slow and unreliable at higher elevations. It is often wise to carry a power bank to ensure your camera and phone stay charged between major stops.
